2023 Champions Volunteer Foundation Grant Applications Now Open

The Champions Volunteer Foundation’s (TCVF) 2023 grant application is now open for submissions, and all Coachella Valley based non-profit organizations are invited to apply. Applying for a TCVF grant is an incredible way to champion change in the local desert community and showcase the power of sports to make a positive impact and difference off the court.

Applications are now open until September 30, and eligible organizations can apply here. In order to be considered for a grant, organizations must commit to exclusively donating all funds to charitable causes in the Coachella Valley. TCVF plans to award roughly 40 grants to nonprofits who support youth, recreational, educational, and well-care programs throughout the local desert valley community. A total of $3.3 million in funds have been awarded in previous grant cycles.

“The Champions Volunteer Foundation embodies the transformative and philanthropic spirit of the Coachella Valley,” said Nancie Wingo, Director of Volunteer Development. “We are always looking for new charitable causes to support in our desert community, and we invite all eligible organizations to share their story with us and join us on our mission of using sports as a vehicle to be a powerful philanthropic force for good.”

The journey of The Champions Volunteer Foundation began back in 2002, when a non-profit arm was established to use the economic impact of the BNP Paribas Open to give back to the greater Coachella Valley community by supporting local charitable causes. The foundation is relentlessly committed to assisting those who need support the most, with past examples of grant recipients including the Boys & Girls Club, Desert Cancer Foundation, Make-A-Wish and many more incredible organizations.

In addition to awarding annual grants to local non-profits, the foundation provides unique volunteer opportunities to support local wellness events in the Coachella Valley each year. Over 1,200 volunteers are recruited to support the operations of the BNP Paribas Open each March in an overall community-building effort that builds connections and camaraderie around local residents.
